5/5
"If we could give more than 5 stars we would, the home is stunning and every little detail was thoughtfully done to ensure our stay was memorable. We not only loved the home but we also enjoyed the little details like the branded coffee cups, bath robes, welcome note and more. The location is great, you can walk to the downtown area in less than 10 minutes which has some restaurants, local shops and more. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed rafting on the Grand River and the cute town of Paris Ontario. Thanks for a great stay, highly recommend The Walnut in Paris Ontario, you will not be disappointed!"

About The Hosts

We are your hosts, Katherine and Diana, a mother-daughter team.

While I (Katherine) won’t claim to be an ‘expert’ at anything, I do love to renovate & invest in real estate! And in particular…I like to buy old worn down properties and breathe new life into them by injecting my personal style and design.

My husband is a contractor, and I’m a self-proclaimed ‘contractor in training’, absorbing all the knowledge I can from him and getting as hands on as I possibly can with our renovations. I want to do the design AND the work.

I should also mention… I am an animal lover! My husband and I adopt senior dogs and try to make their last years their best! (hence why our short term rental is pet friendly – we know how important pets are, they are a member of the family after all!)

Hi I’m Diana, if it were not for my daughter starting to invest in property, I would not have gotten into renovating. Sure, I painted and decorated the kids bedrooms like most moms, but not to the extent of renovating a complete house. Luckily, my father taught me how to sand and paint and do other household maintenance. So, when my daughter bought her first investment property years ago, I jumped in to help.

I love restoring old woodwork.  Often old railings, banisters, basebaords and door frames are damaged, have holes, or accumulated old paint. I love seeing the finished product when these are carefully sanded, filled and repaired and painted with a gorgeous new color that highlights the property.

Together with our husbands we updated this beautiful property.  What’s more is that my husband and I have lived in “The prettiest town in Canada” (aka Paris) all of our married lives.  This is such a fabulous town and I hope you get to enjoy it as much as we do.
